What you can do for the Town Hall
We want Members so we can ask you for ideas, hear your suggestions, and let you know how things are progressing. We will be sending a regular update to Members to ensure you know what is going on and what you can do to help us bring Portobello Town Hall back to life.
Having Members is a solid sign that our community wants the Town Hall back. You can do as much or as little as you wish – just as long as we have your support.
It is free to be a Member.
The Formal Role
The Constitution sets out how the SCIO should be run. We need Members to help us ensure that the Trustees are answerable to our community. There are formal opportunities to hear what the Trustees have done and, importantly, elect a new set of Trustees every year.
Apply on line below!

The Constitution of Portobello Central SCIO provides that:
Clause 9: The structure of the organisation consists of:-
the MEMBERS – who have the right to attend members’ meetings (including any annual general meeting) and have important powers under the constitution; in particular, the members appoint people to serve on the board and take decisions on changes to the constitution itself;

the BOARD – who hold regular meetings, and generally control the activities of the organisation; for example, the board is responsible for monitoring and controlling the financial position of the organisation.
We welcome you to become a Member:
